Which is better, the MIT Tetris building, or the Space Invaders art installation in Manchester? Both are pretty cool, but the MIT squad just pulled ahead by issuing the source codification of the openhanded hack.

Just in case you incomprehensible IT, a group at MIT turned one side of the on-campus Green Building into one voluminous Tetris game, using bichrome lights in the Windows to display the various Tetris pieces. The mystery story though, was how this all worked together to create an awing visible effect.

Hera's the magic explained: All of the Windows were dominated via a receiving set send protocol, and could display 15 framers per endorse in 24-bit discolour. The wooden box housing the controller controlled four alight switches, which dispatched the output wirelessly to a computer. This allowed the biz to ravel and beget the correct output for the building presentation.

The cipher on GitHub provides the exhibit plugin API, so you can write the plugins that prescribe what would appear connected a display (the display being a building, wall or whatever your heart desires), and in includes a test plugin so you can get a sympathize with how it works. Unfortunately, the pack doesn't provide the code that lets the control organisation work with the display–this is something you bequeath have to fun around with yourself.

On the flip side, at any rate the limited software released means you get more room to try out yourself, meaning you could possibly create something equal more epic!

If you're superficial for an idea though, here's one suggestion: Political action committee Man. Father't leave, if you make up a Political action committee Man building game or something evenly as awe-inspiring, don't forget to tell GeekTech!

Get all the code you will deman, plus a few explanation notes from the team on exploitation it, finished on their GitHub page.
